Religious School

The Mission of the Ames Jewish Congregation Religious School is to:

Motivate, engage, teach and inspire students to identify with the Jewish people through involvement and participation in Jewish life.

The Religious School will do this by:

1. Providing educational experience in such areas as Jewish religious/cultural diversity; Torah and other texts; rituals/observances; ethics, values and beliefs; spirituality; history; Hebrew; and social action.

2. Using a sequential curriculum that increases in sophistication and complexity as students age.

Ames Jewish Congregation offers religious school classes for children beginning at age 3, and Hebrew instruction beginning at age 8-9. While we are an affiliate with the Reform Movement all children being raised Jewish & their families are welcome. Our little school on the prairie has an inclusive and energetic program. For more information contact either co-directors – Ellen or Soko, or come for a visit.
